Hammer crusher is used in cement industry exclusively, serves to crush medium to hard and brittle material, such as limestone, marlstone and the mixture of limestone and clay. To compare with the traditional multi-stage crushing process, it can reduce the materials from run-of-quarry to product of minus 80mm for feeding of the raw mill by only one stage, thus the capital cost can be cut down, the total machinery weight reduces, and the operating cost lowers.

Operating principle For Hammer crusher

The materials are fed through the inlet opening by a feeder (e. g. apron feeder) and fall down to the upper chamber formed by two oppositely rotating rotors, where the materials are primarily crushed. Further comminution takes place between of rotor and anvil when the materials are swept down to the discharge area. Final crushing is carried out between the rotor and grate where the lump shaped materials are crushed until required grain size of products are obtained and discharged through the grate slots.

The crusher consists mainly of rotors, anvil, outlet grates, casing and grate adjusting device

Rotor

Rotors are the core component of the crusher, which is composed of hammer discs, side discs, hammers, hammer axles, shaft, flywheel, bearings, and bearing housings. The hammer discs and side discs are secured on the shaft by keys and clamped by clamping ring. The rotor shaft is made of high-quality alloyed steel to meet the challenge of big lumps and the need of transmission of large torque

casing

The casing is composed of upper casing , upper casing , upper casing, and lower casing .They are connected by screw bolts. The casing is of solid welded design. The interior surfaces of housing are protected by the liners from wearing. Holes on upper casing are used for the extraction of hammer axles. The lower casing is fitted both in the front wall and in the back wall with inspection doors that allow getting access under the crushing chamber and pulling out the grate.

Outlet grate

 Two discharge grate baskets surrounding the two rotors in the lower half by about 2×125 degree, each composed of several cast grate plate made of abrasion-resistant alloyed steel. The two discharge grates are interchangeable and adjustable to keep a constant gap between the hammers and grate bars when the hammers get short due to wearing.

Anvil

The anvil of high alloyed and wear-resistant cast is centrally located between the two rotors. On this anvil together with the two rotors the feeding material will be primarily crushed. The anvil plays an important role in the course of comminution and suffers from fierce impact. It can not only prevent the large particle from getting into the discharge area and cause violent impact to the grate bar, but also induce the material to two discharge areas equally.

Transmission unit

The transmission unit consists of small pulley, flywheel, counter shaft, flexible couplings,bearings, slide rails, base frame and adjusting bolt. The power is transmitted via V-belt that is tensioned by means of screw bolt.
