Technological process For Grate cooler
A cement grate cooler is an essential component in the cement production process, responsible for cooling and conveying clinker from the rotary kiln to subsequent processes. It operates on the principle of indirect heat exchange.
Hot clinker from the kiln is discharged onto a reciprocating grate. Air is forced through the clinker bed from below, and this air cools the clinker by absorbing its heat. The cooled clinker is then transported by the reciprocating motion of the grate to the downstream processes, while the hot air, enriched with heat, is used in the kiln for fuel combustion.
The efficient cooling process helps preserve the quality of the clinker and ensures it’s ready for subsequent grinding and cement production steps.
